A military veteran and experienced business leader based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Douglas Charney has served as the president of Charney Investment Group since founding the company in 2016. He has achieved numerous milestones during his time in this position, including the James Dunks Advocate Award. Douglas Charney spent over five years as the managing director of the Charney Investment Group of Wells Fargo, ranking as a Premier Advisor with Wells Fargo each year between 2011 and 2016. He began his career with Charney as a financial planner, investment portfolio manager, and senior vice president of Charney Investment Group, Wachovia Securities from 1998 to 2011.
Earlier in his financial career, Douglas Charney served as a branch manager and senior vice president at Wheat First Butcher Singer and associate vice president of investments with Dean Witter Reynolds. His military career, meanwhile, included time as an executive officer with the United States Army in Long Island, New York, and three years as a Shop Officer and Executive Officer of the 504th Maintenance Co., in Bamberg, Germany. He has held many leadership roles with the US Army National Guard and the US Army Reserve.
A certified financial advisor, Douglas Charney studied business at Penn State Harrisburg. He subsequently graduated in the top 10 of his class at the Officer Basic Course in Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland, as an Army logistics student and received his Airborne Badge from the Army Airborne School in Fort Benning, Georgia. After finishing the Officer Advanced Course, he resumed his financial studies at the Dean Witter Financial Advisor School, followed by a senior Army officer course at Command General Staff College.
